Let me tell you about the two processes of diamond segments: cold pressing and hot pressing.
When processing the diamond segment with grooves on both sides in the traditional method, it is divided into two steps. First, the diamond segment is cold-pressed, and then the diamond segment is hot-pressed.
Cold forming of diamond segments:
It is the shape required by the direct forming section on the cold pressing mold. The cold pressing mold includes five parts, the upper pressure head, the lower pressure head, the center plate, the front end plate, and the rear end plate. The arrangement sequence of each part is used to form the required shape of the section. The cavity, fix the periphery of the cold press mold, so that the cavity will not be deformed after pressurization, then add the required powder in the cavity, put it into the upper pressure head, and pressurize, so that the powder changes from loose to Stop pressurization when the required segment shape is in solid shape, separate the fixing devices around the cold pressing mold, and separate the cold pressing mold, take out the segments one by one, arrange the regular segments manually, and wait for use.
Diamond Segment Hot Press Forming Process:
That is, put the cold-pressed diamond segment on the hot-pressing mold, and warm-press forming. The hot-pressing mold includes five parts, the upper pressure head, the lower pressure head, the middle plate, the end plate, and the side plate. Cavity, put the cold-pressed diamond segment in the cavity, fix the periphery of the hot-pressed mold and put it into the sintering equipment, so that the diamond segment is melted under warm pressure to form an alloy, and finally shaped, finally cooled and decompressed, dismantled Fasten the device and take out the diamond segment.
In the segment manufacturing process, the selection of the segment carcass material and the hot pressing process are the more important links. Co-based and bronze-based alloys are generally selected as the carcass material, but they cannot be achieved in terms of manufacturing cost and application performance. Good combination. Fe-Ni-Cu-W alloy was proposed as the segment carcass material through horizontal analysis. After testing and application, a relatively ideal combination of manufacturing cost and performance was obtained.
The manufacturing process of the diamond segment can be described as a sintering process of metal powder under a certain pressure, which is a powder metallurgy process: uniform and heterogeneous metal powder is sintered at a temperature (800-1000°C) and a certain pressure (180-250Kgf/cm2) ), through a series of physical and chemical effects such as dispersion, welding, compounding, and recrystallization among powder particles, a sintered body with a certain shape and mechanical properties is formed, which is a segment.
